Child slavery is being used for camel racing in the UAE. The rich Arabs buy kids from human smugglers and used them in camel racing. Poor parents from undeveloped countries send their children with agents in order to give them employment in Arab countries.
An international newspaper published a report and exposed the shameful reality behind the luxurious game. The report mentions that many children die during the race or sustain serious injuries. Parent’s of the children never see their kids again and live with a painful memory.
The children live a miserable life of slavery and their owners treat them worse than animals. FIA chairman, told the media that more than 3000 children were missing and their parents lodged FIRs against the different agents. FIA officers are investigating the issue with the UAE police and trying to solve the matter as well.
Chairman Burney Trust International and former minister for human rights Ansar Burney says that he has visited Gulf States to take up the issue of children who are still missing. “I will also take up the matter with the Ministry of Interior now.”
The father of the missing child begged help from police and higher authorities and stated in the FIR that he sent his son to an agent who promised him to give a job to his son in Dubai. However, neither the agent came back nor his son contacted him again. Unfortunately, the Pakistani government is not taking any serious measure against the perpetrators and has given them a free hand.
